As bad as it is when their kvetching
threatens to engulf me, each rasping
shriek of the other's name like
a staple in my brain, that is
how good it is when they hold
hands and bounce on the blue
mat with green polka dots, and
chortle as they nuzzle their heads
into each other's bellies, or one tells
the other, You don't have to be scared.
