Bees!
This summer I've been paying attention to bees. As a new gardener trying to grow "pollinator-friendly" plants, I get excited every time I see a bee or butterfly. Earlier this month, I was fascinated to see a bee with its leg pouches full of pollen. Back in my days working on The Magic School Bus, I learned that bees actually have a built-in "storage basket" on their hind legs to hold the pollen until they return to the hive. But I've never seen such a full pollen basket in person before. So cool!
I also love seeing how a bee nestles so perfectly into the flowers that both feed it and rely on it to survive.
To sum up my feelings, I turn to Footloose-soundtrack-contributor Deneice Williams (paraphrased): "Let's hear it for the bee! Ahh, let's give the bee a haaa-aaaaa-aaaand!"
